Disney originally contracted Will to help with asset/component creation for their Lion King and Frozen broadway programs, but upon further discovery, realized that his expertise extended beyond that original task. As a result, his work transitioned to more of an overarching design systems and style guide project, which allowed him to create assets and set a visual standard across productions.
THE CHALLENGE
External goods and services can represent 70% of a company’s cost of goods, so even small savings in this area can lead to large improvements for a company’s profitability. This is important, because a lot of time and money is spent on projects handled by an external company/team. 75% of people recognize a brand by its logo, and 42% of consumers believe a logo effectively communicates a brand's personality.

ROLE |
UX & Visual Designer
UX Design Systems, Style Guide, and asset/component design for Disney's Broadway Productions.
PROTOTYPE
Throughout the process of creating this style guide, Overall, Will created, retouched, and/or vectorized over 300 individual files, excluding the style and brand guide, so determining which elements would actually be of use was daunting. Choosing, and presenting them in the most logical and easy to use way was my main goal, with special consideration for how this would also be used by people unfamiliar with their brand.
